Service terms

Terms of Service

Effective September 11, 2026

Service scope

Debugsmith provides software diagnosis, repair, testing, and related technical services. An intake request is not an acceptance of work. We confirm the scope, price, timing, required access, and deliverables in writing before repair work starts.

Diagnostic deposit

If we accept a diagnosis request, we send a secure payment link for a $49 diagnostic deposit. The deposit covers investigation and written findings. Once diagnostic work begins, the deposit is earned and is generally non-refundable. If you approve a quoted repair, the deposit is credited toward that repair total unless the written scope says otherwise.

Quotes and authorization

Typical repair work starts at $149, but every project is different. A displayed starting price is not a binding quote. We will not begin additional paid work or materially expand scope without your written approval.

Your responsibilities

You confirm that you own or are authorized to work on the submitted systems and materials. You are responsible for accurate information, lawful use, backups, license compliance, and removing sensitive data before sharing. Do not send passwords or secret keys through the intake form or ordinary email.

Changes, backups, and third parties

Software changes can interact with hosting platforms, browsers, APIs, plugins, and services outside our control. We use reasonable care and will identify meaningful risks, but cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. You should maintain current backups and review third-party terms.

Acceptance and support window

Project-specific acceptance checks and any included correction period will be stated in the written scope. Requests outside that scope may require a new quote.

Warranty and liability

Services are provided with reasonable professional care. To the extent permitted by law, implied warranties are disclaimed and Debugsmith is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses. Any direct liability relating to a project is limited to the amount paid for that project, except where law does not allow that limit.
